Why give to charity?

Apart from the obvious fact that your giving benefits the charity directly, there are tax benefits available to you, the giver.

What can I give?

carmel: ministries international welcomes and appreciates all gifts received whether large or small, one-off or regular payments.

You may have other resources to give such as land, buildings, shares, securities or an inheritance, all of which may qualify for tax relief. With monetary gifts, whether you are a base rate or higher rate tax payer, there are benefits for tax-efficient giving which can make your donation go further. Higher rate tax payers can offset their gift against their higher tax liability.
